Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the research, testing, assessment and subsequent development, integration, and deployment of technical projects. This is a full-time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities.
Plan technological enhancements; prioritize initiatives, system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessments, technical planning, verification and validation, configuration management and supportability and effectiveness analyses of total systems throughout the system lifecycle. Analyze all levels of total system to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-2 years), intermediate (2-5 years), senior (5-11 years), specialist (11-16 years), and senior specialist (16+years). Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s or graduate degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience. Must have or be willing to attend training in the following areas: CMMI; cybersecurity and sensitive unclassified information awareness; IT security awareness; and NASA elevate privileges. Understanding of engineering integration standards, principles, theories, techniques, and concepts. Able to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. At the specialist and senior specialist levels, must be able to develop and manage complex solutions with minimal supervision or guidance and handle a wide degree of latitude. At the specialist level, capable of representing the organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. At the senior specialist level, able to serve as the organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Solid communication skills are critical. Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
