    Abacus Technology is seeking an Operations Analyst to assess the effectiveness of company and customer functions and offer recommendations for improvement in accordance with a well-defined body of knowledge.  This is a full-time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities.


    Act as organization’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) to define, design, and implement continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across organization.  Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies.  Analyze improvement programs and potential results in area of expertise.  Provide expertise in deploying improvement programs and initiatives in area of expertise.  Facilitate and coach improvement teams.  Direct teams to achieve desired results using improvement methodologies.  Interpret customer needs and requirements, translate concepts into practice, identify process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends.  Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success.  Install process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications and rewards.


    Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-2 years), intermediate (2-5 years), senior (5-11 years), specialist (11-16 years), and senior specialist (16+ years).  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s or graduate degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.  Must have or be willing to attend training in the following areas: CMMI; cybersecurity and sensitive unclassified information awareness; IT security awareness; and NASA elevate privileges.  Lean Six Sigma certification desired.  Understanding of process improvement principles, theories, and concepts.  Able to provide solutions to a variety of project or program problems.  At the specialist and senior specialist levels, must be able to develop and manage complex solutions with minimal supervision or guidance and handle a wide degree of latitude.  At the specialist level, capable of representing the organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects.  At the senior specialist level, able to serve as the organization spokesperson on projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies.  Solid communication skills are critical.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
