    Abacus Technology is seeking a Technical Computer Support Analyst to provide technical support for desktops, software applications, and related technology.  This is a full-time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities. 


    Install, configure and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software.  Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.  Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.  Install software, patches, and updates on desktops, laptops, and servers.  Provide server support to site personnel including installing the operating system, configuring drives, troubleshooting hardware issues, etc.  Install and configure and administer Web application platforms such as SharePoint including large server farm topology; applying patches, service packs, and infrastructure updates; create, configure, and maintain service applications to enable and enhance site functionality; support DBAs and developers in deployment of software applications and other related solutions; train and assist non-technical users; assist security administration by maintaining access roles and permissions.  


    Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-2 years), intermediate (2-5 years), senior (5-11 years), specialist (11-16 years), and senior specialist (16+ years).  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s or graduate degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.  Must have or be willing to attend training in the following areas: CMMI; cybersecurity and sensitive unclassified information awareness; IT security awareness; and NASA elevate privileges.  Understanding of technical computer support standards, principles, theories, and concepts.  Able to provide solutions to a variety of software problems.  At the specialist and senior specialist levels, must be able to develop and manage complex solutions with minimal supervision or guidance and handle a wide degree of latitude.  At the specialist level, capable of representing the organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects.  At the senior specialist level, able to serve as the organization spokesperson on projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies.  Solid communication skills are critical.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
