    Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the setup of hardware and software and add new software applications to increase computer productivity.  This is a full-time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities. 


    Conduct detailed evaluation of customer requirements.  Research emerging technologies to decide if installing them can increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.  Analyze costs and benefits to determine if computer upgrades are financially worthwhile.  Develop computer systems specifications, detailed analysis that address business requirements and suitable with the customer’s system architecture standards.  Oversee installation and the configuration of the new system and customize it for the company or customer.  Develop flow charts, plans, methods, and prepare specifications including input and output requirements.  Test to ensure that the systems work as expected, train system’s end users, and write instruction manuals.  Establish and document system parameters and formats, ensure hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinate and/or modify system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.  Develop or revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.


    Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-2 years), intermediate (2-5 years), senior (5-11 years), specialist (11-16 years), and senior specialist (16+ years).  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s or graduate degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.  Must have or be willing to attend training in the following areas: CMMI; cybersecurity and sensitive unclassified information awareness; IT security awareness; and NASA elevate privileges.  Understanding of computer system principles, theories, and concepts.  Able to provide solutions to a variety of software problems.  At the specialist and senior specialist levels, must be able to develop and manage complex solutions with minimal supervision or guidance and handle a wide degree of latitude.  At the specialist level, capable of representing the organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects.  At the senior specialist level, able to serve as the organization spokesperson on projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies.  Solid communication skills are critical.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Secret clearance.
