Abacus Technology is seeking an ITFO Assistant Lead to provide expertise and support for field operations to the IT Operations Support Services (ITOSS) program in the Office of the CIO for the DHS Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE).  This is a full-time position.


  • Develop requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems/IT Field Operations).
  • Assist other project members with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communication protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; life-cycle management; software development methodologies; modeling and simulation; disaster recovery; and requirements management.
  • Assist the ITFO Team lead in managing a team that provides support for integrated hardware and software, and continual world-wide enterprise level IT O&M services for over 800 offices and over 26,000 users.
  • Help provide local infrastructure deployment services for IT service request (ITSR) projects for integrated end user desktop/laptop/handheld hardware and software as well as infrastructure upgrades and site relocations.


5+ years’ experience in an IT role.  Associate’s degree in an IT relevant discipline; Bachelor’s degree in an IT relevant discipline desired.  Able to document solutions with MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and Project.  Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with management and peers.  Excellent customer interface, coordination, and organizational skills.  Able to utilize interpersonal skills when interacting with multiple contractors and government organizations.  Previous experience supporting DHS highly desirable.   Must be a US citizen.
