Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Communications Engineer I to provide deployment support for the IT Operations Support Services (ITOSS) program in the Office of the CIO of the DHS Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE).  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunication (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, and Video) requirements, designs and orders.
  • Provide in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunication alternatives for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts and telecommunication enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures.
  • Provide interface support to telecommunication end users, telecommunication operations personnel, and telecommunication strategic program management.

Qualifications

1+ years’ experience in systems/network engineering.  High School diploma or GED certification.  Experience with troubleshooting and design for enterprise level IT programs.  Familiar with IT/network topologies and security systems.  Must have experience with PC and server hardware and software, wireless services, deployment, and O&M.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must be committed to continuous learning and have the ability to work/lead in a team environment.  Experience supporting DHS is desirable.  Must be willing to travel.  Must be a US citizen.
