Abacus Technology is currently at the ground floor implementation of CVRi2. It is the upgraded communications system that will allow the B-2 to receive signals bounced off of lower levels of the atmosphere, bypassing the satellite relay. This will ensure the B-2 remains a viable nuclear platform. The CVRi2 provides a broader set of longer-term capabilities; upgrades across the entire airborne nuclear command, control, and communication fleet for platforms such as the B-52 Stratofortress and the E-4B Advanced Airborne Command Post.
Abacus Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Cyber Engineer to support this program. This is a full-time position.
Ensure the security of a new government utilized VLF radio system, which includes anti-tamper and anti-jam of the radio signal. Ensure the physical and environmental security of the hardware components.
5+ years experience in a system engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience with engineering support associated with Common VHF Radio Increment/Low Frequency Increment 2 requirements. Knowledge of DoDI 5000.02. Must be familiar with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) for cyber system interoperability. Able to work as team player to design and manage solutions, and then communicate essential information to the right people. Able to complete program objectives for development, production and sustainment to meet user's operational needs. Able to provide engineering support to the Milestone Decision Authority (MDA). Experience assessing technical progress of assigned projects or programs. Experience with cost estimates and performance supportability, providing input during source selection, monitoring acquisition development up to production and deployment. Must be willing to work regularly and comply with security at local federally funded research and development campus facilities. Able to work closely with PM and supporting teams. Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner. Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations. Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
