Abacus Technology is seeking a Software Engineer to provide support for the application development life cycle under the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Hanscom AFB.  This is a full-time position.


Set the technical direction for all initiatives related to Cursor on Target (CoT) for the CoT PO.  Work with various Air Force and DoD organizations to address advanced technical topics related to CoT.  Work with the CoT user community to develop enhancements to the data specification that address the most pressing needs.  Develop capabilities and/or reference implementations that implement the enhancements to the specification.  Develop technical recommendations for various topics related to CoT. 


7+ years experience in systems or software engineering.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  In-depth experience with all phases of the software development life cycle and knowledge of a wide array of software languages.  Expertise with the administration of Windows and Linux/UNIX computer systems (software installation, operating system configuration).  Understanding of the common DoD technologies (such as Link-16, VMF, data guards, USMTF, TBMCS and others).  Knowledge of tactical radios and networks a plus.  Experience with software design and working closely with the end user to verify product will meet business requirements.  Broad systems engineering skills, particularly related to software systems (requirements development, interoperability, information assurance) and software development (configuration management, agile methodologies, testing).  Expertise working with and developing data standards.  Expertise working with XML and JSON. Expertise working with web technologies (such as HTML and JavaScript).  Knowledge of network technologies (Transmission Control Protocol, User Datagram Protocol) is required.  Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.  Requires good communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.  An understanding of the DoD and Air Force organizational structure.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
