Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to maintain quality support for IT services at NASA Headquarters.  This is a full time position.

Responsibilities

Assist NASA in achieving its mission of providing quality IT services that enable NASA Headquarters customers to accomplish NASA missions.  Ensures quality control for all functions performed.  Communicate and collaborate closely with the Government customers to clarify any quality questions, issues, or concerns.  Formulate and maintain quality control objectives.  Develop quality control metrics used to measure effectiveness/progress in areas of responsibility.  Make recommendations for changes to processes, procedures, or policies based on review of quality control metrics.  Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.  Interact with process leaders to oversee, develop, and maintain standards and quality control measures.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in quality control or assurance.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Certifications or training in Lean Six Sigma and/or ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 20000 is desired.  Able to develop and maintain quality control objectives.  Develop and monitor quality control metrics providing regular reports to program management.  Comfortable making recommendations for changes to processes, procedures, or policies based on review of quality control metrics.  Experience creating and implementing inspection criteria and procedures.  Able to perform quality testing and inspection activities.  Able to maintain records and documents related to quality assurance.  Comfortable interacting with program and project leaders to develop, implement, and manage quality control measures.  Experience promoting quality control/assurance awareness and training.  Able to prepare quality control bench marking assessment and findings reports.  Experience conducting audits against project deliverables using defined success criteria.  Experience developing and planning process improvement actions from analysis and audit data.  Proven quality control experience at NASA Headquarters or a NASA Center in support of IT Support Services and similar task areas in an enterprise performance-based environment.  Must be a US citizen.
