Abacus Technology is seeking a Chief Solutions Architect to oversee an enterprise level IT support services program. This is a full time position at NASA Headquarters and local offsite facilities.
Contribute to the design, solution, architecture, standard, and related artifacts and processes required for mature ITIL Service Design. Oversee and ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) based virtual development, testing, staging and production environments used in support of systems engineering and implementation processes, procedures, services, and tasks. Establish and maintain relationships in support of implementing Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloud, and related technical solutions in support of NASA ITCD. Design solutions that leverage both procured and desired technical services and provides technical support to stakeholders.
10+ years experience in solutions and systems architecture. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification desired. Experience analyzing and evaluating customer business and technical requirements. Experience architecting solutions using appropriate technologies which meet functional and non-functional requirements. Able to document, design, develop, and support the management of web solutions, cloud-based solution architectures, cloud-based networks, custom developed software, and COTS software. AWS hands-on solution architecture and implementation experience a plus. Experience defining and maintaining standards, procedures, and policies related to IT management. Able to assess risk factors and limitations of current systems identifying areas of opportunity for mitigation and improving system performance. Experience providing technical assessments of current and proposed methodologies for IT management. Able to providing strategic direction and technical oversight pertaining to implementation of new tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies. Able to perform analysis of alternative and market research studies that provide data which aid in the selection of tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies. Capable of overseeing research and development for the application and integration of new tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies into an IT environment. Able to interpret, implement, and adhere to agency and federal level technology standards, policies, and directives. Able to work in collaboration with other technical leads, participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts. Able to articulate in writing and verbally the impact of architecturally significant change requests. Experience with IT portfolio management to include analysis, infrastructure, cloud transformation, data center consolidation, and application development/sustainment. Able to maintaining knowledge of current and emerging tools, technologies, solutions, and methodologies. Able to provide subject matter expertise assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, other Systems Architects and application teams. Able to provide detailed development cost, resource, and technology estimates for proposed solutions. Strong knowledge and understanding of NASA applications, platforms, mission requirements, and AWS enterprise system migrations is desired. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
