Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking Agile Software Developers with experience working and/or leading on all phases of application programming and software development life cycle activities within the Intelligence Community.  This is a full-time position.

 

This is a prospective position that we’ve posted with the intention of building a pipeline of candidates based on submitted proposals and pending contract awards.

Responsibilities

Conduct design and development of software, determination of interfaces, and technical feasibility analysis.  Coordinate and perform requirements and implementation analysis, design, development, testing, and enhancement of application software.  Coordinate and/or perform integrations of COTS and other existing code.  Code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs.  Lead team tasks for configuring complex application programs from detailed specifications or developing, modifying, or configuring complex software applications from detailed specifications.  Draft detailed application coding specifications.  Lead all phases of applications programming and software development life cycle activities.

Qualifications

Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-3 years), junior (3-6 years), mid (7-10 years), senior (11-14 years), and principal (15+ years).  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred for principal-level position.  Experience with web application and web service development.  Experience with Java, J2EE, and interface tools such as Eclipse.  Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative development.  Experience drafting detailed application coding specifications, leading multiple concurrent tasks for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems and applications programs, and experience with all phases of SDLC activities (senior and principal levels).  Solid understanding of object-oriented design and development.  Knowledge of web services, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and T-SQL.  Experience with the following (particularly for the mid-level positions and above): service-oriented architecture (SOA); XML; WSDL; Java Messaging Service; relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres; CM and build tools such as Maven, Redmine, Clearcase, or Team Concert; and scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.  Familiar with Agile development principles.  SCRUM training and/or certifications a plus for the high level positions.  Able to work independently or as part of team and to interact professionally within all levels of an organization.  Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers is desired.  Must hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
