Abacus Technology is seeking Network Administrator/Engineers to install, configure, and maintain network equipment in support of business processing requirements within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position.
This is a prospective position that we’ve posted with the intention of building a pipeline of candidates based on submitted proposals and pending contract awards.
Evaluate current systems and perform software installations and upgrades to network operating system. Schedule installations and upgrades, including planning, scheduling, testing, and coordination, and maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune the network to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensure network integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware changes and solutions. Ensure network redundancy and recoverability by reducing single points of failure. Work on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Plan large-scale network projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Conduct network architecture assessments. Assist and advise government with technical design support to network acquisition specifications, design, proof-concept prototyping, development and evaluation of network management system. Provide assistance to network engineering staff and assisting users with issues related to network access. Manage and upgrade multiple systems.
Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-3 years), mid (3-6 years), junior (7-10 years), senior (11-14 years), and principal (15+ years). Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred for principal-level position. Experience with network administration in a mixed vendor, e.g., Cisco or Juniper environment. Able to maintain integrity of the network environment, perform network administration setup, coordinate bandwidth and connectivity management and monitor and maintain continuity with maintenance agreement. For the senior and principal levels, experience developing enterprise-wide architecture, overseeing detailed design, planning, purchase, installation and support of enterprise scale network resources. Able to provide vision and strategic direction to influence decision makers and lead technical resources (senior and principal positions). Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers is desired. Must hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
