Abacus Technology is seeking Systems Administrators to install, configure, and maintain computing platforms (workstations and servers, to include web servers), storage solutions, and enterprise management solutions within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position.
This is a prospective position that we’ve posted with the intention of building a pipeline of candidates based on submitted proposals and pending contract awards.
Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedule, coordinate, and test installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Ensure workstation/server integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Develop and promote standard operating procedures. Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers. Support media management through internal methods (e.g. disk space planning and management), and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries and software and hardware inventories. Monitor and maintain continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements.
Positions available at multiple experience levels including entry (0-3 years), mid (3-6 years), junior (7-10 years), senior (11-14 years), and principal (15+ years). Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’sdegree preferred for principal-level position. Experience with systems administration in a mixed platform environment: UNIX, Sun Solaris, Linux, or Windows. Senior and principal level positions require experience developing enterprise-wide architecture, overseeing detailed design, planning, purchase, installation, and support of enterprise scale storage and computing resources. Able to provide vision and strategic direction to influence decision makers and lead technical resources. Experience in managing and planning for resources, support, and upgrades of multiple secure servers. Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers is desired. Must hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
